Job Title: Senior Control Systems Engineer
Location: Office based in Winnersh Triangle (Travel is expected for client site testing and commissioning functions)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary Band: £42,000 to £50,000 depending on experience

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated candidate for the position of a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and growing engineering team.. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, programming, and testing control systems for various industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop/review technical and testing documentation for control systems upgrades
  • Design, development and testing of PLC, HMI and SCADA software ensuring quality assurance throughout project delivery
  • Lead the reverse engineering of legacy systems for the implementation of new control and associated equipment
  • Commissioning lead for control systems upgrades, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with industry regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
  • Client Liaison and engineering team collaboration
  • Team leader for a group of engineers

Essential Requirements:

  • A demonstrated track record of expertise in Software, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Proven technical writing experience, including the development of comprehensive technical documentation for control systems
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in PLC programming languages (e.g. Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Significant experience in the design and programming of HMIs
  • Advanced understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet IP, Modbus, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design.
  • Proven team leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members to success
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Project management experience
  • Proven experience in converting PLC code from legacy systems to new platforms
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards for the water industry
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure design
